Archbishop Fulton J Sheen: The Church and the World

A rebroadcast of a famous clergy retreat in which Archbishop Fulton Sheen traces post-Vatican II confusion in Catholic spirituality to a failure to distinguish the world as the theater of redemption from the spirit of worldliness; the result, he says, was that retreats devolved into uncommitted discussions and the Church itself dropped Christ as its center—while the secular world picked Him up in distorted form. Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen will be beatified on September 24th in Saint Louis, Missouri.
