Spritual Dryness Desolation, Part 2

Dan and Tom continue to develop on the theme of our nearness or distance from God, during this Lenten season and throughout our lives. Our perception that God is at times distant–too distant–from us can cause pain, anxiety, fear and depression. But it is during these experiences that we need to do as Dan wisely tells us, and accept the dryness rather than run or hide from it. By doing that, we demonstrate the beginning of the Cardinal virtue of fortitude, or courage, to go into the dryness and darkness, because in our perseverance, we will eventually see the Good Shepherd in search of his lost sheep.
