The Tough Men of Galilee

What kind of man was Jesus that He could look a fisherman in the eye and say, ‘Follow me’—and that man would leave everything?” This episode brings listeners into the world of first-century Galilean fishermen: men who worked through the night, battled unpredictable waters, carried the responsibility of providing for their families, and lived in a demanding world where a bad catch could mean a difficult day for everyone at home. Then we meet Jesus. Not simply as the teacher who called the fishermen, but as the man who could stand among them, earn their attention, challenge their pride, call forth their courage, and redirect their strength toward the Kingdom of God. The central message: Jesus did not call these men because they were already perfect. He called them because He saw what their strength could become when it was surrendered to God.
