Massive Divine Mercy image placed over East Boston

August 4, 2025

After months of fundraising and planning, on Wednesday, July 16th, members of WQPH Radio were thrilled to join Rich Wenzl and his Divine Mercy image installation crew while they worked to install an impressively large Divine Mercy image on the back facade of Madonna Queen of the Universe shrine in East Boston, overlooking the harbor and Logan Airport.

The image, which measures more than 18 x 10 feet with its metal frame, was elevated by the crew via boom lift and secured to side the building, while WQPH members looked on and said prayers for the well-being of the workers and the success of the installation.

“Jesus is going to touch a lot of souls with this image,” remarked Wenzl after the installation was completed safely. “Jesus is with us, totally. He showed that answer completely today. That’s the message, ‘Jesus, I trust in you’,” he continued, breaking into the closing prayer of the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Wenzl, who resides in Chicago, has installed Divine Mercy images all over the country through his organization, divinemercy33.org. The Divine Mercy image he installs, known as the Vilnius Image, is the original version that was painted at the request of Sr. Faustina Kowalski.

The installation at the Marian shrine in East Boston marks the 13th that WQPH has sponsored and organized for. Other images have gone up at various schools and parishes around Massachusetts. Mary Ann Harold and other members of WQPH are currently involved in organizing more installations for locations in Massachusetts as word spreads and interest grows.
