Spiritual Collaborative Continues Nursing Home Visits In Medford

August 6, 2020

On Saturday, August 1st, the Medford Catholic Collaborative, a joint effort of groups, Legion of Mary, Prayers For Life, and parishioners of St. Joseph’s in Medford, visited the Glenridge nursing home.

It was the groups’ third visit to long-term care facilities in Medford, marking the completion of their stated goal of visiting all such facilities in the city.

The collaborative distributed prayer cards, rosaries, and roses to residents, and pictures were taken of residents with a statue of Our Lady of America, which was brought by participants.

While maintaining social distance, the visitors sang and prayed the Rosary with the residents. Some participants held a large sign which read: “We Are Praying For You!”

Julie, who has attended all three visits, offered the following comment:

[Residents] were happy to receive rosaries and Miraculous Medals. They sang and prayed with us. And lots of smiles when the statue was brought near them for the photo.

Each visit has been very joy-filled and a true blessing for everybody, the residents, the staff and all of [us]. It has been such a difficult year in so many ways, but these visits have reminded me that sharing God’s love reminds us of what’s important.
