Truth
Dan inspired the opening…(hint: that is not the whole truth!)
“What is Truth?” asked Pontius Pilate of our Lord, unaware that the answer was the Person in front of him. Dan and Tom wrestle a with the definition of “the True” and “Truth,” using Aristotle, Augustine and Aquinas as willing tag-team partners in their quest to unfold the truth of Truth. Do we have personal truths, or “our truth”? If so, then can we claim truth independent of reality (Tom goes to bed as “Thomas” and awakens with an assertion that he is now “Thomasina” in the moral relativism of today. No! We affirm eternal truths whose source is God and we affirm God. Conversely, we open ourselves to having God confirm us–in the Sacraments (especially Confirmation) which contain His Truth. The discussion explores doing good (Moral Truth) and being good (Ontological Truth)
